2016 Helping Hands in the Hills

July 14, 2016

Mark your calendars because the 2016 Helping Hands in the Hills Day of Service is coming up on Saturday, September 10!

This is the second year for the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce to co-host this day of service with the City of Vestavia Hills to try to assist our Vestavia Hills residents (senior citizens, disabled, etc.) who need a helping hand with minor projects around their home.

We were incredibly blessed last year to have more than 300 volunteers, ranging in age from preschool to senior citizens, serving throughout the city, and this year our hope is to have even more volunteers to serve even more residents!

Helping Hands in the Hills will be structured the same as our inaugural year- we will have breakfast provided by a sponsor at the Wald Park Pool Pavilion.

Then we will disperse throughout Vestavia Hills to serve residents in need and help with various projects around the city. Afterwards, lunch will be provided to all volunteers courtesy of another sponsor.

We wish that we could share each and every kind word that residents who were served last year had to say. This service day truly makes a difference, and we can’t wait for this year to be even bigger and better!

Our hope is that this is an event that will bring the residents of Vestavia Hills together as a community to serve others as we strive to make our city “A Life Above.”
