The Wilhelm Family is pleased to announce its scholarship recipients for 2018:

Alexis M. Stover, daughter of Officer James A. Prine of the Vestavia Hills Police Department.  Alexis has earned a 4.0 GPA at Mortimer Jordan High School and Bevill State.  This fall she will begin classes at the University of South Alabama.  She is pursuing a doctorate of medicine with a concentration in pediatric plastic surgery.  $1,000.00 will be awarded to Alexis toward accomplishing her goal.

Darren R. Bradley, son of Sergeant Donald Bradley of the Vestavia Hills Police Department.  Darren was an honor society member at Oneonta High School, as well as a Jacksonville State University Elite Scholarship recipient and is currently a Geography and Anthropology major at JSU.  He is pursuing a doctorate degree in Geography.  $500.00 will be awarded to Darren toward accomplishing his goal.

Darci A. Champion, daughter of Officer Darcy Champion of the Vestavia Hills Police Department.  Darci, a National Honor Society member, earned a 3.8 GPA at Clay Chalkville High School, while holding the Captain’s position for the school’s volleyball and basketball teams.  This fall she plans on attending Jefferson State.  She will be studying toward a Nursing degree.  $500.00 will be awarded to Darci toward accomplishing her goal.

These three children from our Police community have enjoyed growing up in safe environments which is a direct result of their parents and the countless members of law enforcement, who go to work every day to make our cities safe.  Thank you for all of your dedicated service and congratulations to Alexis, Darren and Darci.
