The Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center – The Alys Stephens Center brings the best of today’s performers to Alabama, from classical to contemporary.

Birmingham Ballet – located in Vestavia Hills, is a self-sustaining community arts organization with a mission to provide professional quality family entertainment, a training ground for aspiring talent and a performance outlet for dance enthusiasts of all ages. All dancers from Birmingham and the surrounding area are invited to audition to perform with the Birmingham Ballet. Birmingham Ballet Academy serves as the official school of the Birmingham Ballet providing faculty and rehearsal facilities.

Birmingham Children’s Theater – BCT exists to educate, entertain and enrich the lives of children through the magic of professional theater. Established in 1947, BCT has touched the lives of over twelve million students throughout its six-decade history. BCT’s ongoing New Voices Project has commissioned over 50 original scripts, stories, musicals and adaptations for young audiences since 1982 alone, and maintains a commitment to discovering new voices among playwrights, and the presentation and experimentation in dramatic literature for youth. In 2009-2010, BCT offered 275 in-house performances and 161 tour performances that reached over 570 K-12 schools and served over 170,000 youth and families.

The Alabama Sports Hall of Fame – The Alabama Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving and honoring the athletic achievements of our state’s greatest champions who have made their mark in American sports history.

The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute – The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute takes its visitors on one of this nation’s most significant journeys by capturing the spirit and courage of countless individuals who, during the 1950’s and 1960’s, dared to confront the bigotry and racial discrimination of American society.

The Birmingham Museum of Art – The largest municipal art museum in the Southeast, the Birmingham Museum of Art has a nationally-recognized permanent collection of over 17,000 works of art dating from 3000 B.C. to the present. The collections include African, American, Asian, European, Precolumbian, Native American and Contemporary art.

The Birmingham Zoo – The Birmingham Zoo is home to 700 animals from many continents, including many endangered species.
