Thanksgiving is always a wonderful time to spend with family, eat more than usual and really evaluate what it is that you are most thankful for. Here at the Chamber, we have a dedicated board, 1,100+ members and a kind, involved community that we count as blessings. In addition to all of those; though, the Vestavia Hills Chamber staff took some time to write what we are each individually thankful for this year. Happy Thanksgiving from us to you!
I am thankful for my sister, Mary who is almost my best friend, and for her one-of-a-kind personality that never fails to make me laugh. I’m thankful for my parents, who love me unconditionally, and who have worked so hard to provide the best opportunities for Mary and me. I am thankful to have grown up in this community, surrounded by people who never hesitate to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need and to have attend Vestavia Hills City Schools, which do such a wonderful job in preparing our students for success. I am thankful to live in a country that values freedom and equality for all, and for our military and first responders who sacrifice so much to keep us safe.
I am so grateful to be able to serve a risen Saviour and to have a personal relationship with Him and to live in a country where we can worship without fear of retribution. I am grateful to live and work in a wonderful city and in a job that I love and enjoy and am blessed to work with such an incredible staff of such talented ladies and such a wonderful membership base. I am grateful for a great relationship with our city and school leadership in Vestavia Hills. I have been blessed beyond what I deserve.
I am so thankful for the Lord’s provision and plans. The past four months have been a whirlwind of change and excitement. In those months I’ve gotten married, moved states and received my current job as Office Manager here at the Chamber of Commerce. It has been so fun to watch how the Lord has worked in just this short time. I’m thankful that He’s blessed us with a home church, jobs and encouraging friends here in Alabama. I’m especially thankful for my husband Taylor, and how he shows me the gospel every day through our interactions. I’m thankful for our supportive friends and loving families back in Arkansas and the welcoming community that is Vestavia Hills. We are so blessed to call this place home!
